27, 28, and 29 Weeks Pregnant!

Wow.....so I haven't updated in a while.  I have excuses.  1.)  I've been extremely busy at school and at home trying to get the nursery ready and the house cleaned up.  2.)  I pretty much go to sleep as soon as I walk in the door in the afternoons.  3.)  My computer was in our living room storage ottoman, and I'm too lazy to get it out.

Yep, those are my excuses.  I apologize for my absence.  It should be easier to blog now with my computer out of the ottoman. :)  I am officially in the 3rd trimester now.  I have no idea when that became official (every website says something different as to when the 3rd trimester begins) but now that I am 29 1/2 weeks, I'd say I qualify.  Boy, did the 3rd trimester come with some changes.

27 weeks pregnant

Week 27 was a busy bee week for me.  I really got into exercise and eating healthy.  Adam and I took nightly walks, and I clocked in 11 miles that week.  Which is....about 11 more than I have walked in this entire pregnancy.  Ok, I've walked a couple times, but I definitely haven't been that dedicated.  It felt really good, and that week I had the best sleep I have had in a long time.  I wish I could say I'm still walking like that now, but I have gotten more uncomfortable and a lot busier since then. :(

Look at that belly!  Walking the neighborhood with Heidi.  Yep, we make her carry her own poop bag. :)
I also started to freak out that we hadn't done anything to the nursery.  It was a blank canvas.  So that week we picked up my childhood dresser from my parents' house so we could paint it and get it moved into the nursery.  It will double as a changing table.  Here is a before picture.

We got it painted, but we still need to buy new hardware.  No worries, I wore a creepy mask so I didn't breathe in the fumes.  It's pink!

I will show you the final result in a separate post!  We also got the glider rocker in that my nannie bought for us.  It's really nice.  We still have the crib left to paint.  That night, after we painted the dresser most of the day, I got in an extreme nesting mode.  I dunno what came over me, but it was crazy.  I cleaned from 8:30 p.m. until 12:30 a.m..  Straight.  My back started to hurt, so I sat down on the couch.  Then my back went out.  I mean out.  I couldn't stand, I couldn't sit up, and I couldn't even raise my hand without severe pain.  I was in tears, and I knew I had overdone it.  It was probably the worst pain I have ever felt in my life.  I told Adam I needed to take something.  I took some Tylenol.  I NEVER take medicine.  Ever.  But this time I had to have something.  So Adam knew something was definitely wrong.  I took Tylenol, and Adam carried me to bed.  I couldn't walk.  He got the heating pad for me, and I slept with it on my lower back.  I didn't go to church the next morning because I knew I needed to stay off of my feet.  It was miserable.  I have definitely been pacing myself since then.

Then week 28 came along.  I can't really remember anything that happened during week 28.  But here's a picture to say I was there!

Week 28

Now I'm in week 29, and this has been the longest week EVER. I am EXHAUSTED all the time.  It's crazy.

Week 29
I feel like I'm in the 1st trimester again, but worse.  I'm a zombie basically.  I'm always yawning, and I can even fall asleep sitting up.....make that standing up.  Yep, it's already happened once.  I'm so tired.  I just can't say it enough.  I'm also having a lot of body aches.  My lower back has been killing me, my legs hurt really bad too, and my bad hip has been giving me a lot of trouble.  I'm very "complainy" if you can't tell. :)  I really am just getting to where I'm ready for our baby to be here.  I have enjoyed pregnancy, but now it's getting uncomfortable, and I am so tired.  I know, all you mommies out there are saying, "Sleep now, you'll only be more tired after he comes!"  I hear that a lot, and I'm sure it's true.  Although I'm hoping I won't have all these body aches to deal with.

One good thing about week 29 was Valentine's Day.  :)  Adam had flowers delivered to my school.  They were beautiful.  He picked out tulips, which is the type of flower we had in our wedding. :)

He also got me these lights, which I have been wanting for a while now.  He knows me.  I always want "practical" gifts.  These will look great on our back porch in the warmer months!  They are from Target, found HERE.
I got Adam a bracelet off of Amazon.  Well, it's actually several bracelets in one.  He likes to wear a lot of bracelets, and I thought this one looked pretty cool.  He seems to really like it.

We went out to Macaroni Grill for dinner.  It was fun, and we enjoyed each other's company.  We talked about the baby and lots of different things.  I really enjoy spending time with him.  The table was covered with paper, and they give you crayons to doodle with.  Here are some of our masterpieces we drew during dinner!

I'm in the tower and Adam is riding on Heidi to come and rescue me.  The spot on the paper is Heidi's accident.

I'm not as creative.  But I did trace his hand and then my hand inside his.  Awwww.  Yeah, the first time we held hands, it felt like I was holding hands with my dad because his hands were so big.  Lol.

I didn't get a picture of us together.  Sad.  After dinner we went to TJ Maxx and Homegoods to look at their rugs for the nursery.  We didn't find anything, but we had fun together walking around and laughing at some of the funny things they can have in those stores.  It was a really fun night.

I go Friday for another doctor's visit.  I will start seeing her every 2 weeks now.  Then when I hit 36 weeks, I will start seeing her every week.  It's coming up!  I can't wait to meet our little boy!  I better go get some sleep.  Y'all have a great night! :)

  1. It's true what all those ladies say, but (and this shows you how vain I am), I would much rather be EXHAUSTED with a screaming newborn and "skinny" (skinny is different after you have a baby...) than be HUGE, uncomfortable, and achy with no kid, just pregnant. I'm nervous how I'm going to feel when I get where you are in 8 weeks with a kid and being huge/achy/complainy/exhausted. It really helps time fly by when you're going to the doctor every week. Just remember something a lady from church told me "Your first kid you are SURE is going to come early and is always late, your second kid you WANT to come late and is early, and by your third, you just don't care as long as they come."

  2. I was wondering what happened to you! I can imagine it is getting harder and harder to find the time and energy to get everything done. I can't wait to see the nursery!
